Consultant (Part-Time) – Excise Tax Stamps in Ethiopia is needed!!!
Our client - Germany-based strategic advisory firm is looking for a Part-Time Consultant with deep knowledge of Ethiopia’s excise tax and fiscal monitoring systems, along with strong relationships within relevant government entities and industry stakeholders.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will serve as a key local advisor, providing strategic insights into Ethiopia’s excise tax stamp ecosystem, including regulatory frameworks, institutional structures, and operational dynamics. His/her expertise will directly inform policy engagement strategies, market entry assessments, and implementation roadmaps.
This is a remote, part-time consultancy role, well-suited for an experienced, connected, and results-driven professional capable of delivering clear, actionable insights under tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct in-depth analysis of Ethiopia’s excise tax stamp and compliance frameworks.
• Identify and engage key government stakeholders (e.g., EIH, Ministry of Finance, Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority).
• Facilitate introductions and maintain communication with relevant decision-makers and regulators.
• Advise on strategic positioning, compliance strategy, and partnership development within the excise tax and track-and-trace market.
• Support the design of regulatory engagement and market access strategies.
Requirements:
• First or second degree in relevant fields - Law, Accounting, Economics etc.
• ACCA or other internationally recognized certifications
• a minimum of five years of proven experience in the excise tax stamps sector or closely related compliance, fiscal monitoring, or regulatory fields.
• Possess an established professional network among Ethiopian government authorities and industry leaders in the excise sector.
• Strong understanding of Ethiopia’s legal and regulatory environment governing excise goods and fiscal systems.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills in English.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-border consulting environment.
• Availability and ability to travel and conduct occasional in-person meetings abroad, mostly Europe (a valid Schengen Visa is major plus) on the Clients expense.
