Sailing Match is looking for a mate/eng for a 30 meter sailing yacht!

A Southern Wind sailing yacht is looking for a Mate/Engineer to join her for the 2026 Mediterranean season. Based in Vilanova, has a confirmed summer programme cruising the Balearic a combination of private charter and owner use.
The captain is experienced and hands-on with engineering, and will oversee technical works directly making this a collaborative role rather than a solo technical responsibility. Systems onboard are straightforward. What matters most is the right attitude: a competent sailor who is self-sufficient, engaged, and comfortable with the full range of life on a working sailing yacht.
For the right candidate, there is a genuine opportunity to carry this into a new build project in Cape Town at the end of the season a rare chance to be part of something from the beginning.

Join in Vilanova. Balearics cruising.July 2025Charter season.August 2025 Owner trip, Balearics.Beyond Potential new build programme, Cape Town.
What we are looking for

AEC Level 1 & 2 — essential
STCW / ENG1 valid and in date
Competent and confident sailor all systems are hydraulic; must be comfortable going aloft and working the boom to drop the main
At ease with watersports and toy handling
Flexible and proactive the yacht is for sale and the season requires someone who adapts without being managed

Chief Stewardess for 50m modern classic SY. Med, Caribbean & Pacific itinerary

Sailing Match is hiring! We’re looking for a Chief Stewardess for a 50m modern classic schooner based in Spain.

The owner lives aboard most of the time no charter guests, no turnovers. He has a big personality, a sharp sense of humour and a genuinely warm heart. He values people who are authentic over those who are polished.

You will have a deck/stew working alongside you, but the interior is yours to run and own from day one. You need to be someone who can walk on, read the room, and get on with it.

CHIEF STEWARDESS:The job calls for someone with genuine emotional intelligence , a person who is naturally empathetic, resilient, and comfortable around people who think and communicate differently.

An awareness and sensitivity towards mental health is something we consider a real strength for this position.

On the sailing side when the sails go up, everyone goes on deck. The stew team handles lines, assists with hoisting and reefing, and plays a real role in sailing the boat. Plenty can be learned on the job, but we are looking for someone who already knows their way around a sailing yacht and knows the ropes.

Requirements:
STCW ENG1 on hand.
1 years minimum experience on similar role.
Strong references from previous vessels ideally
Salary industry standard DOE.

The programme: Mediterranean summer , France, Italy, back to Palma at the end of the season. Caribbean from November. Pacific in April/May.

Captain new build 80ft Sailing Yacht

Sailing Match is hiring! We’re looking for a Captain for a brand new 80ft sailing yacht launching this June.

This is a rare opportunity to take command of a new build from day one and grow with the programme as it develops into a full charter operation based out of Spain.

The long-term plan is a proper charter operation, with a Caribbean season from winter 2027/28. For the right captain, this is a position to grow into.

CAPTAIN
We need a serious sailing captain with ocean miles, and the mechanical knowledge to back it up.

The captain will be directly responsible for the mechanical upkeep of the vessel managing onboard systems, troubleshooting, and liaising with yard work .

The captain will be expected to manage yard work and contractors, oversee budgets, and handle the day-to-day accounting and administration that comes with running a serious yacht programme. Charter experience is a real plus — familiarity with guests, brokers, MYBA agreements and the commercial side of yacht operations.
Motor yacht captains, please don’t apply , sailing experience is essential and non-negotiable.

Qualifications:
Yachtmaster Ocean commercially endorsed
Valid STCW & ENG1
AEC 1 & 2 a plus

Mid/end May: vessel handover, Finland
Summer: charter & private, Palma based

Sailing Match is hiring! We’re looking for a First Mate and a Stew-Cook couple to join a beautiful sailing yacht currently based in Spain.

A couple is ideal but strong individual candidates are very welcome too. The programme heads to Greece for the summer, then across to Antigua in November , so if you’re after a great boat, a proper season and a transatlantic, this could be the one.

FIRST MATE The boat is a serious performance sailing yacht and needs someone who knows their way around a yacht of this size. We’re looking for a minimum of 2 year’s experience on boats of 80ft+, solid deck skills and ocean miles.

Must be comfortable going up the rig. Good mechanical skills are a real plus. Relaxed personality a must; the owner and captain are both British and the vibe on board is friendly and easy going.

Salary around industry standard DOE

STEW-COOK No need to be a trained chef ,the owner loves food and the style is relaxed home cooking done really well. Fresh salads, good dinners, a happy galley.

Min. 1 year stew-cook experience on yachts required. Sailing experience a plus. Warm personality and great English essential.

Chef / Cook & Stew – Private Sailing Yacht | Mediterranean

We are recruiting on behalf of a privately owned sailing yacht based in the Mediterranean for an experienced Chef/Stew to join a small, close-knit crew of three for the upcoming season.

The Role
This is a purely Chef/Stew position — cooking and light stewarding only. The right candidate will be passionate about food, comfortable working in a galley underway, and happy operating as part of a tight crew without any expectation of deck duties or watchkeeping. This is made clear from the outset.

Cooking style is wholesome, hearty, and unpretentious. The owners are relaxed about food — wraps, pasta bowls, and simple meals whilst sailing are absolutely fine.

Family-style service is the norm, with occasional plated meals. A couple of homemade bakes or desserts a week (cookies, cake) are always appreciated. Culinary training is not a requirement, but genuine passion and solid experience in the galley absolutely are.
Stewarding duties are light — cabin turnovers, heads, and helping out where needed. The crew all muck in.

The owner dines with the crew at times, so a relaxed, mature personality who is comfortable at the table is important.

The Candidate
∙ Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience — yachting, ski chalet, or similar private household/hospitality background strongly considered
∙ Female candidate preferred due to cabin configuration
∙ Based in Europe preferred
∙ Comfortable cooking underway in all conditions
∙ Mature, grounded, and a great team player
∙ No expectation of sailing instruction or deck involvement

The Yacht
