Doha British Schools are a cluster of outstanding schools that provide a British educational provision for over 2500 students in Qatar. Doha British School Ain Khaled, was founded in 1997 and is a private co-educational day school for students from Foundation Stage to Year 13, offering the National Curriculum of England and IB programmes. Students follow the English Early Years Foundation Stage, the National Curriculum at Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and at Key Stage 4 a comprehensive range of IGCSE courses. Successful applicants must have:
An undergraduate degree or post-graduate qualification in Librarianship
Experience of working in libraries preferable academic libraries
Excellent communication skills in English
Knowledge or experience of using databases, e-books and e-journals
Experience in teaching information literacy skills.
Experience of using library management system (LMS)
Proactive and imaginative approaches to the provision and promotion of Library services and resources
Knowledge of young people’s literature and interests
Awareness of current developments in Library/resource centre management
Experience of working with young people in multicultural settings
Experience of managing school library and staff
Awareness of British school curriculum including AS Levels
Knowledge of IB Diploma and Certificate including the requirements of the Extended Essay

Qatar National Library seeks an outstanding and experienced Director of Content Services.
This position reports to the QNL Executive Director and is a member of the library's senior management team, contributing to the achievement of the library's vision through its strategy and initiatives. He/she will oversee the cataloging and acquisition sections, legal deposit, metadata creation as well as establishing the direction and management of the library's technical services activities (including acquisition, cataloging, classification, metadata creation and metadata management, the processing of library materials, etc.) and ensuring access to materials in all formats and across many disciplines and languages.
Minimum knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Master's degree in library and information science
Eight years of experience in technical services and at least six years in a managerial position
Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to solve problems and manage complex workflows
Excellent understanding of the role of technical services in libraries
Strong commitment to working collaboratively in a multicultural society
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Bilingual and fluent in Arabic and English
