Blood transfusion center is a part of South Egypt Cancer Institute, Assuit University, developed in 2001. Blood transfusion center provides blood donation with the following series; donor selection withdrawal of blood, blood grouping and Serological testing include HBsAg, anti HCV, anti HIV, syphilis and finally cross matching between donors and receipts. Blood transfusion center also provides pla

telets aphaeresis both random and platelets concentrate. It also provides many scientific activities as training service and dissemination to the biomedical research community through courses, tutorials, workshops and consulting. The Scope of laboratory is: Blood transfusion center issues safe blood for both inpatient and outpatient. The most widely used routine applications are blood grouping, cross matching and Serological testing.
