The world is experiencing a massive shortage of nurses. In order to solve this crisis, it is essential to rethink the social, political and economic situation:

Jonathan likes his job as a nurse, even though it demands a lot from him - physically, mentally and emotionally. Read on to find out why he became a nurse - and what he likes most about this profession:

"I knew how challenging and great the role of a nurse especially in dealing with peoples lives. Along with being mentally exhausting, it is also physically strenous. Being a nurse is to deal with different aspects of care from one's conception, upon birth and until death of a person. I came from a family of nurses and this inspired my interest to become a nurse. My career rewarded me a decent, stable money especially here abroad. And I believe it's not only about the money, but the passion of being a nurse and how I made a difference in the lives of the people."

Nursing shortage is a global problem. In particular, small hospitals and care facilities in rural regions are increasingly suffering from a lack of nurses. In addition, it is difficult for them to find qualified nurses.

➡️ Why is there a nursing shortage?

❗️In the next few years, many of today's nurses will retire, while at the same time fewer and fewer young people want to train as nurses.

❗️Many people in the world cannot afford nursing training.

❗️Due to extreme strains in the everyday work routine, more and more nurses are giving up their profession.

🔜 This development is alarming given that the population is getting older, which means that the demand for nurses will increase enormously in the coming decades.
