The Power of 'No' 🚫: Boundaries for Immigrant Nurses in Germany 🇵🇭🇩🇪

As an immigrant nurse from the Philippines, I embarked on a journey to Germany with high hopes and dreams. However, adjusting to a new culture while maintaining boundaries became a crucial aspect of my experience.

Did a particular person cross your personal or professional space? I consider the word 'NO' a superpower we must use in our modern times, especially in our capitalist society where productivity is highly valued. It's vital to maintain personal and professional 'hygiene' and not give way to those who invade our space 🚀.

In the Philippines, our cultural values emphasize politeness and selflessness, making us excellent caregivers. But these qualities can also leave us vulnerable to exploitation. Germany values directness and assertiveness, and I found it challenging to say 'no' when faced with excessive demands. Learning to assert my boundaries was essential for self-preservation and maintaining a balance between work and personal life 🙌.

Ultimately, 'no' is not a rejection of others but an affirmation of self-worth. Through setting boundaries, I gained respect and found the courage to be a compassionate caregiver without compromising my well-being 💪. My journey in Germany has taught me to navigate cultural differences, all while using 'no' as my superpower 🦸.

I feel blessed and happy, Dont be shy to ask a sincere help from us.

Besteht eine Stichtags- oder Rückzahlungsklausel, kann der Arbeitgeber eine Rückzahlung des Weihnachtsgeldes fordern. Laut Stichtagsklausel besteht ein Anspruch auf Weihnachtsgeld als Sonderleistung nur, wenn das Beschäftigungsverhältnis bis zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt besteht und bis dahin auch ungekündigt ist. Dies gilt nicht nur bei einer Kündigung der Pflegekraft, sondern auch bei einer betriebsbedingten Kündigung durch den Arbeitgeber. Ist im Vertrag eine Rückzahlungsklausel formuliert, kann der Arbeitgeber ebenfalls eine Rückzahlung vom Weihnachtsgeld fordern.

Hi Friends! 🙏

what do you know about you know about Children in Germany or Kitas(child daycare) ?

My son is already a teenager and boy do I struggle to connect with him. Puberty, huh?
But from what I hear from my collegues it is also not easy to take care of kids, especially when they are in Kita age (2 to 6).

Child care in Germany, especially the journey to find a Kita in Berlin, is like a mix of good and not-so-good stuff. It's a bit like a treasure hunt with tricky locks. 🌟

The good part is that Germany has many places for kids, and Berlin, being a big city, has a lot of Kitas. These Kitas help parents who work and need someone to take care of our kids. The government helps with money, so it's not too expensive. It's a bit like winning a game because it makes things easier. 🎰🍀

But here's the hard part: From what I heard, getting a spot in a Kita in Berlin is tough. It's like looking for hidden treasure in a big, crowded forest. You need a map, lots of patience, and some luck. 🗺️🔍

When your child finally gets into a Kita, they learn a lot, which is good. But sometimes, it feels like they're in a hurry, like cooking in a busy kitchen. 🍳

For me, who's still learning German, understanding what's happening can be like trying to figure out a secret code. Even though some people speak English, it can still be confusing.

Also, my teenage son is in an international high school, and it's not easy to connect with German people. The differences and the language can make it feel like two different worlds. 🏫🌍

But the nice thing is that Berlin is full of people from all over the world, and they like having kids from different backgrounds play together. It's like seeing a beautiful rainbow after the rain. 🌈 So, even though finding a Kita in Berlin can be like solving a tricky puzzle in a big city, there are still fun things to discover along the way. 🧩🏙️
