We’re looking for a Process Engineer to join a Irish leading company in the beef sector who is growing the business beyond market expectations. A company that has a reputation as an excellent employer and people focused business.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
• The successful candidate will hold a 3RD level degree relevant to the role
• Experience working in a food manufacturing environment or in a similarly demanding working environment, with exposure to chamber packaging equipment and PLC controlled high speed manufacturing lines is beneficial
• Experience using various maintenance techniques and the use of instrumentation to diagnosis equipment faults in a production/manufacturing environment is essential
• Experience in Pneumatic and hydraulic systems with intra-locks, variable speed drives and Pilsz safety systems advantageous.
• Proven experience of a production/process engineering and improvement.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Investigating faults within pneumatic, hydraulic and vacuum systems in various process equipment eg. chamber packaging equipment, automatic tying equipment, this is inclusive of the machines PLC control, its programming and safety systems, the validation of this work and ensuring it is line with health and safety polices and manufacturers requirements
• The validation of production equipment safety systems as part of daily and weekly checks, for example Grasselli CLO systems.
• The testing of production equipment using instrumentation to ensure correct operation and using predictive maintenance to techniques to reduce downtime.
• Help improve overall manufacturing processes through analysis and strategic planning and studying existing and alternative production methods, regarding work- flow, plant layout, types of machinery and cost.
• Identify inefficiencies in manufacturing equipment by regular analysis of volume and troubleshooting areas of loss production, eg manufacturing speed/rework.
• Monitor processes and work to eliminate faults leading to an increase output and decrease costs on high volume/speed processing lines.
• The installation, testing, maintenance and repair of all manufacturing and process equipment within the site
• To carry out planned, reactive, corrective and predictive maintenance in accordance with CMMS
• Liaison with Production to provide pro-active support ensuring maximum performance and efficiency of production
• Compliance with all company ISO, SAP & HACCP procedures, ensuring all works are carried out in a safe
• Adherence to legislation and Company, hygiene, health and safety policies during all works in accordance with PPE requirements at all times
• To support continual improvement through identifying site improvement projects and personal development opportunities to the Engineering Manager
• Other duties which may be assigned when required
