Position Summary: Welder

Our client, a world-renowned manufacturer of custom production equipment, is looking for a Welder to join their team in the Vaughan area.


Responsibilities
Perform full range of MIG and some TIG and stick welding as needed.
Work from routing sheets, blueprints and weld procedures as well as written and verbal instruction
Weld in specified positions for pressure, strength and appearance on certified work
Position, fit, grind, block, clamp and tack parts together for proper alignment
Knowledge to use a wide variety of tools
Exercise care in welding to ensure proper technique
Participate in daily production meeting
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
High School diploma or GED equivalent diploma from a technical school preferred
2-3 years' experience as a welder
Able to move and manipulate heavy object /machine parts
Able to read blueprint and drawings
Able to analyze plans for new equipment
Must have reliable transportation

The Machine Operator will safely operate and maintain the paver machine to ensure production orders are completed on time and quality standards are maximized.


Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate and monitor paver machine, conduct daily machine setup and calibration, perform maintenance and basic repairs
• Inspect, prepare and load raw materials
• Perform periodic checks on product output to ensure quality control
• Complete activity logs, records of maintenance and repair and other documentation as well as all mandatory training


Skills and Abilities

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent
• 3 or more years machine operation experience in a similar role
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
• Ability to use overhead crane, power and hand and tools
• Mechanically inclined
• Ability to accurately perform measurements with micrometer and calipers
• Ability to perform basic calculations with computer and calculator
• Knowledge of production, quality control, maintenance and safety
• Ability to maintain good working relationship with coworkers and supervisor
