The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler is looking for a Steward who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do.

The Steward reports to the Stewarding Manager. We are looking for an energetic, hospitality professional with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, have a passion for service and people, and ideally past cleaning or entry level kitchen experience. Applicants will be a willing team player, comfortable with standards of service, and will be willing to accept assignments on as need basis, in order to promote team work. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
The Steward is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen equipment. This includes china, glass, and silver wear from the restaurant and kitchen areas. You will be required to clean and sanitize all pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using the correct cleaning and rinsing solutions, safely set-up clean and utilize the silver brushing machine, and properly sort and transport all clean items once complete.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
• Previous experience in hospitality is appreciated
• Good team player

Applicants must hold a valid work authorization
In this role, you will:
• Clean and sanitize china, glass, and silver using the dishwashing machine; load and unload dishware and flatware from dishwashing machine and store properly
• Clean and sanitize all ovens, steam kettles, mixers and other kitchen equipment as well as all kitchen drains, sinks, floors, and walls; clean, dust, seep, mop, polish, scrub, wash, strip, and buff kitchen and pastry shop production areas and hallways
• Clean and sanitize all pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using the correct cleaning and rinsing solutions
• Safely set-up, clean, and utilize the silver burnishing machine to clean, polish, sort, and transport silver following a daily or weekly schedule
• Place damaged or excessively worn pieces in a designated area for repair
• Safely utilize and store all cleaning compounds, chemicals, and materials including soaking solution utilizing the correct protective clothing

• keep all guest corridors neat, vacuumed and dusted
• clean mirrors, furniture, floors, elevators, and doors
• inventory and maintain the cleanliness of all linen closets and empty trash
• resupply guest room supplies in the linen closet and armoires daily
• deliver and pick-up guest request items when assigned (i.e. irons, ironing boards). This also includes making up and delivering cribs and rollaway
• assist the housekeepers by removing the trash and soiled linen from the guest rooms
• deliver linen from the laundry to the floors, including armoires, as needed
• spot clean furniture and carpets as instructed
• maintain the cleanliness of the stairwells and service elevator areas by sweeping, mopping and dusting the areas
• assist in moving beds and furniture as requested
• offer assistance to guests when requested or needed
• report any maintenance deficiencies to housekeeping
• assist in putting on bed skirts, turning mattresses, removing or hanging sheers and drapes
• employ proper use and maintenance of all equipment and supplies
• respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation
• complete any project assigned by the Managers

• Performs floor care. Sweeps and mops floors and stairwells. Seals, waxes, polishes tile, marble and brass. Cleans and shampoos carpet. Vacuums hallways and offices.
• Properly remove trash from designated areas and dispose trash in a central area.
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
• Assist with responsibilities and duties in the absence of, or with heavy volume in the area of Stewarding and Bell Services.

• Read and understand the work report/room assignment sheet
• Pick up and ensure the bucket/caddy is adequately and properly stocked
• Clean, dust, sanitize and supply (including amenities) all guest rooms (including bathrooms) assigned daily, according to procedures
• Make a bed and vacuum the floors in a guest room.
• Handle a "Do Not Disturb" room and any call backs.
• Keep corridors clean, neat and free of litter in all assigned areas.
• Retrieve and then maintain the linen closet in a clean, neat and orderly fashion
• Restock armoires of all supplies and equipment at the end of a shift
• Remove, when necessary, room service dishes to the service area
• Maintain pars established in all guest rooms for linens, supplies and furniture
• Notice and report any damage or repairs needed in assigned areas
• Assume possession of hotel pass keys during a shift and keep them secure
• Observe uniform and dress standards on a daily basis
• Offer any assistance possible to guests
• Properly use all cleaning supplies and equipment
• Respond properly to any hotel emergency or safety situation
• Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff
