Last week, we were happy to help host Community Safety Day 2026 alongside the WI Social Services Justice Team! 💛

Local elementary school students and community members had the opportunity to meet the service providers who serve Bkejwanong Territory, including first responders, Resource Protection Officers, border security and more.

Events like these give youth a chance to learn about the important roles people play in their community, explore different career paths and start dreaming about what their own futures could look like!

For National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we're sharing information about accessibility at Walpole Island Employment & Training.

A manual elevator is available to assist individuals who have difficulty using the stairs when accessing our employment services.

Please call ahead of your visit to discuss your needs and confirm that someone will be available to assist you.

The Bkejwanong Youth Council is inviting EVERYONE to join us for Cultural Night on October 20th! We’re excited to welcome and celebrate the incoming 2026–2028 Youth Council as they begin their journey of inspiring, supporting, and uplifting our youth and community. 🪶

Last week, Walpole Island Employment & Training took part in the Aboriginal Youth Career Awareness Fair, hosted by Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation! 💛

The fair brought together First Nations youth in Grades 7–12, educators, and employers from across Southwestern Ontario for a day of exploring career opportunities, sharing knowledge, and learning about the many paths available.

Creating these opportunities early helps youth learn about the options available to them and feel more confident as they consider their next steps.
