WIFN Employment and Training WIFN Employment and Training is committed to assisting people in persuit of their life & work goals.

General eligibility* for E&T services:
- Be unemployed or under employed.
- Be between ages 15-65.
- Be a member of the Walpole Island First Nation.
- Must have a SIN (social insurance number) number.
- Be in good standing with our program.

* Eligibility determined in accordance with E&T Policy. The Walpole Island First Nation Indigenous Skills and Employment Training Program (ISETP) provides

the Walpole Island Employment & Training Program with the means and ability to determine, develop and deliver employment and training services and human resource development programs to all Walpole Island members whether their residency is on or off reserve.

A summer of learning and experience!

This summer, students in both our Secondary Summer Jobs Program and Post-Secondary Summer Jobs Program gained valuable hands-on work experience while contributing to the community.

Secondary student Brynn Williams, who worked as a Fire Department Support Assistant, shared:
โ€œWorking alongside Walpole Island firefighters gave me insight into how much goes into keeping our community safe.โ€

The Youth Work Experience Program gives young people the opportunity to gain valuable job skills, build experience, and earn money while working in their community.

To be eligible, you must:
Be a WIFN band member
Be between 15โ€“30 years old
Have a SIN
Be unemployed or underemployed
Not have participated in the Youth Work Experience Program in previous years
Not be registered full-time for the 2026โ€“2027 school year
Have a minimum Grade 10 education
