AgSights, in collaboration with Meat & Poultry Ontario, is about to revolutionize the meat processing industry. We are looking for a Professional that will liaise with various stakeholders (Farmers, Abattoir Owner/Operators, Government Regulatory bodies) to create, develop and execute a centralized Reservation System that will allow farmers to reserve space at Abattoirs in ‘real time’. The goal of the system is to establish a process to determine availability of space and capacity at either end (Farm and Abattoir) and ensure robust communication between all stakeholders to optimize production facilities. While Phase 1 of the project is manual driven, Phase 2 includes automating the process, introducing a centralized scheduling system and developing a budget to ensure sustainability.
The focus of this job is making connections with people, motivating and inspiring them to accept new and efficient ways of working. The work involves enrolling the commitment and buy-in of others. While the job requires a fair amount of process knowledge and familiarity with technology, results will be achieved with and through people. Knowledge and skill in how to successfully influence and persuade others by understanding how their individual needs and motivations link to goals is essential. The job requires a high degree of “selling”, rather than “telling” approach, whether of ideas, products or services.
This is an exciting opportunity and you will be part of a ground-breaking project that will impact multiple stakeholders across the Province.
Job Responsibilities:
• Setup a registration page made for farmers and abattoirs
• Setup forms designed for farmers to fill out to request for availability
• Make connections between farmers and abattoirs based on incoming requests
• Communicate virtually via phone or email with all participants
• Collecting and analyzing data of all participants in this project
• Identifying where there are hot spots (in terms of demand) and cold spots (where there is excess capacity)
• Scoping out phase 2 including what is needed to develop a sustainability plan
• Research options to automate the centralized scheduling
• Document implementation and support development of a budget
• Lead progress meetings with stakeholders
What we offer:
• 1-year Contract with the potential for further extension
• Attractive Compensation
• Opportunity to work remotely
Job Requirements:
• College Diploma, Post-secondary education in a related field
• Min. 5 years industry experience
• Experience in process improvement work with an association or non-profit organization is preferred.
• A self-confident, extroverted style that can enliven, engage and positively impact individuals and groups is essential.
