North Shore Culinary School: Training Today’s Food Service Professionals

The North Shore Culinary School is accepting applications for its Culinary Training Program. The program is designed to help youth and adults gain skills that are relevant to the workplace and help with finding meaningful employment. Students meeting the entrance requirements do not pay tuition.
This is a full-time learning program that takes the best from standard educational programs, and combines it with real-life learning techniques. Dedicated, certified instructors provide regular lectures, alongside individualized coaching when needed, helping students master the skill of culinary arts.
Entrance Requirements:
A letter of referral from a professional who knows the applicant. This may include a teacher, doctor, counsellor, support worker, former employer.
Successful completion of the entrance assessment. This will consist of interviews with the program director and fundamentals instructor.
Health suitable for working with food. A TB test and blood test to be done on acceptance to the program.
A working understanding of English Language and basic mathematics.
On completion of the program the students will be able to retain all equipment provided to start them off in their new careers.
