If you could have seen me hopping happy like a crow, then almost crying and the best are the shots where it looks like I know what I'm talking about. My dad built apartment buildings in Vancouver (that never leaked and are still standing) so I have a great sounding board - and I know we can do SO much more. Great shots of some of the team - and a great place to wear my steel-toed boots. Soroptimist International of Vancouver - ROCKS thanks to a group of women who started this in 1926. Forward-thinking, obviously kick-ass women who found a way to make it happen, even when they were not allowed to own the land they owned or build the building they built. For those who have not heard about Soroptimist International of Vancouver's 'Affordable Housing for Women by Women' project - we had the ground breaking event in December; all the underground starting bits are done and the crane went in today.
I'm beyond happy to share this again and show you one of the things I've been up to in my 'free time'.
We were on site today at 546 East 13th at Cambie to watch the crane be installed at our building site.
Yes, that is me talking about building with our site coordinator and watching the crane go up with some of my team.

Women are empowered when they have control over their lives, which includes housing. This project will empower women economically through holding a lease in their name and support stability and families in achieving financial independence. It will also create a community for working, senior and women-led families where they can support one another and create a stable and healthy environment for them to live in.
