Outreach Services:
CDS provides 1:1 outreach services to individuals living independently in the community. The supports provided are individualized but may include assistance with budgeting, shopping, community inclusion, cleaning, employment services, task analysis and problem solving. Employment Program of BC:
CDS is a sub contractor of the Greater Trail Community Skills Centre providing employment services under the new Employment Program of BC contract. We provide employment supports to individuals with significant barriers to employment. La Nina Extreme Weather Shelter:
CDS manages the shelter which is open from November until March providing a warm space for those that find themselves homeless. Getting to Home:
The Getting to Home project was created in partnership with the Greater Trail Community Skills Centre to support individuals that are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless or hard to house. The project facilitator works 1:1 with the individual through the process of finding an affordable safe place to live as well as building support networks by accessing other services in the community. The facilitator works, with landlords and their tenants to develop mutually respectful placements. Community Inclusion Centre:
CDS is always looking to build services that support the learning and community inclusion needs of the unique population we serve. We are in the process of building a Centre in the downtown core that can be utilized by a number of different non profit agencies sharing the infrastructure costs and space.
