What do women in Canada actually need to thrive at work?
We decided to ask them

With support from Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE), Lean In Canada engaged more than 450 professional women from across the country to better understand what is helping them move forward — and what is still getting in their way.

What we heard became our 2026 Calls to Action: five clear priorities for women, employers and organizations committed to creating meaningful change.

Women told us they need:
• Support through career transitions — not just advancement
• Leadership communities that grow with them throughout their careers
• Identity and intersectionality built in from the beginning
• Clear pathways to find and stay connected to community
• Recognition of the often-invisible work women do to sustain teams and organizations
