Really great information for licensed child care operators, as this outlines best practices to reduce the spread of infection in child care! Parents, check this out too if you would like information on what is expected from operators to keep your children well!

Did you know that licensed child care centres in Toronto are regularly visited by Toronto Public Health (TPH) inspectors to ensure that they follow health and safety standards? Children's Services has partnered with TPH to make its infection prevention and control (IPAC) best practices available for child care providers so that they can develop their own. The topics range from toy cleaning and disinfecting, to determining situations where a child may be sent home from the program due to illness, to how biting incidents are to be handled while in care. Parents may find these guidelines helpful at home, too! Check them out: toronto.ca/children/ipac
