NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC‼️

There is NO threat to the community nor there is NO evacuation required.

This was a simple tree on hydro line.

Please be aware of rumors as they can cause harm to others and can cause a public uproar.

The community is safe.

Be aware there was an incident that included a hydro line which caused a power outage throughout our community.

Emergency Crews are working along with Manitoba Hydro in resolving the issue.

Please be patient as we work on the matter.

Thank you.

Our deepest condolences

With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of our Board Member and friend, Doug Popowich, who passed away on Friday, October 2.

Doug was a lifelong member of the Waterhen community and dedicated many years to serving others. He spent 30 years with the Office of the Fire Commissioner, working with communities, fire departments, and Councils throughout the North. For the past five years, he proudly served as Mayor of the Waterhen Community Council.

Beyond his years of service, Doug was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and community member.

We are grateful for Doug’s dedication, leadership, and the many ways he contributed to his community. His presence, kindness, and commitment to others will be deeply missed.

Our sincere condolences to Judy, his children and grandchildren, his family, friends, and the entire Waterhen community.

Rest peacefully, Doug. Thank you for your years of service and for all you gave to your community.
