While visiting Cape Breton to support the East Coast Music Association (ECMA) back in May, I discovered AbiliTeas Cafe a wonderful social enterprise by the The Ability Collective creating opportunities, celebrating abilities, and showing what inclusive employment can look like in action!

I even came home with a fabulous new jacket that I get so many compliments on, incredible blueberry lime jam, and even some ECMA swag! 🤭🖤

As we celebrate Disability Employment Awareness Month and head into Small Business Week, it’s the perfect time to shine a spotlight on businesses making a difference in their communities.

Because supporting small businesses that champion inclusion is about more than shopping. It’s about investing in opportunities, belonging, and stronger communities.

Today we wanted to say thank you, congratulations, and to spread some love to some of our favorite employer partners on the West Coast by delivering some ‘Boo Baskets’. 👻

Last month we hosted an event in partnership with CBNuit with gorgeous food from The Owl’s Nest…. When it was time to pay the invoice, there was none! The restaurant team unanimously decided that they would like to donate their efforts as a thank you to us for the work we have been doing in the area. When we received that email we were truly blown away. Thank you for your kindness. We look forward to every and all future opportunities to continue working together.

On Friday we were honoured to sponsor the MusicNL Industry Awards where our friends at LHM Records received not 1, 2, or even 3 awards but 4 awards!!! Congratulations to everyone who received an award! We left some goodies with Jeff, so make sure you grab a little treat to celebrate your wins 🖤

🍎✨ AppleFest Port Blandford is pure magic.

There’s something truly special about watching every level of a community come together to create an experience that has something for everyone to get excited about. From local businesses and community organizations to volunteers, entertainers, families and visitors, and even the littlest of littles. Applefest is a beautiful reminder of what happens when people come together with a shared love for their community.
