Industrial Sewing Machine/Serger Operator
The Original Bug Shirt Company – Powassan, Ontario

The Original Bug Shirt Company is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Industrial Sewing Machine Operator to join our production team. We manufacture high-quality insect-protective clothing at our Powassan facility.

Full time/ Permanent Mon-Fri 8:00 am -4:30 pm

Responsibilities
Operate industrial sewing/serger machines to join garment sections and produce finished products
Sew on a piece-work or production basis while maintaining quality standards
Work with cotton and synthetic fabrics
Complete repetitive sewing tasks accurately and efficiently
Inspect work for proper construction, stitching and colour
Work both independently and as part of a production team
Keep your work area clean and organized
Equipment and Machinery
Experience with one or more of the following is an asset:

Industrial single-needle straight-stitch machine
Industrial five-thread serger
Industrial four-thread serger
Double-needle machine
Buttonhole or button-sewing machine
Domestic straight-stitch sewing machine
Training on our equipment and production methods will be provided.

Experience
At least one year of domestic or commercial sewing experience is preferred
Experience sewing complete garments is an asset
Applicants with strong domestic sewing skills are encouraged to apply
No degree, certificate or diploma is required
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
This position involves:

Working in a fast-paced production environment
Repetitive sewing tasks
Sitting for extended periods
Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
Close attention to detail
The ability to distinguish between colours
Handling materials weighing up to 13.5 kg (30 lb)
Meeting production and quality expectations
Personal Qualities
The successful applicant will be:

Accurate and detail-oriented
Reliable and punctual
Organized
Able to use good judgment
Comfortable working independently and with others
Willing to learn and follow established sewing methods
Transportation
Applicants must have their own reliable transportation to our Powassan production facility.

2. Skilled Handyman / Maintenance
