🎉Le CEPN félicite chaleureusement Mme Jennifer O'Bomsawin pour sa nomination au sein du premier conseil d'administration du Musée national de l'histoire du Québec.🎉
Lors de l'étude du projet de loi 64, le CEPN, l’APNQL et l'Institut Tshakapesh ont demandé que le gouvernement tienne compte des savoirs autochtones et prévoie une participation autochtone aux nominations, en consultation avec les Premières Nations et les Inuit. Cette recommandation a été intégrée au projet de loi. La nomination de Mme O'Bomsawin en constitue une première application concrète et contribuera à assurer une représentation plus juste des savoirs, des perspectives et de l'apport essentiel des Premières Nations à l'histoire, au territoire et à la société québécoise.
Nous nous réjouissons de cette nomination. L'expertise et l'engagement de Mme Jennifer O'Bomsawin, Wendat-Abénaquise, contribueront à faire rayonner une histoire plus complète et représentative des réalités des Premières Nations. 🎉The FNEC warmly congratulates Ms. Jennifer O'Bomsawin on her appointment to the first Board of Directors of the National Museum of Quebec History.🎉
During the review of Bill 64, the FNEC, the AFNQL, and Tshakapesh Institute called on the government to recognize First Nations knowledge and ensure First Nations participation in board appointments, in consultation with First Nations and Inuit. This recommendation was incorporated into the legislation. Ms. O'Bomsawin's appointment represents the first concrete implementation of this measure and will help ensure fairer representation of First Nations knowledge, perspectives, and the essential contributions of First Nations to Quebec's history, territory, and society.
We welcome this appointment. The expertise and commitment of Ms. Jennifer O'Bomsawin, who is Wendat and Abenaki, will help promote a more complete and representative understanding of the histories and realities of First Nations. We wish her every success as she undertakes this important role.🧡
