SUCCESS STORY 🎉
After being out of the workforce for seven months, Brenda found herself facing challenges. Having come from a previously unsafe and difficult living situation, and with no certifications or training, she struggled to find stable work. Despite these barriers, Brenda showed remarkable resilience as she continued navigating her mental health journey seeking a fresh start.
With the support of WorkBC Centre Salmon Arm, Brenda connected with a Case Manager and Job Developer who provided one-on-one guidance, resume and cover letter support, and access to wage subsidy opportunities. She actively participated in workshops and embraced every resource available to her. Together, the team used strategies to expand her reach, ensuring employers received her resume. WorkBC helped coach her through each step of the hiring process so she could feel confident and prepared for the interviews ahead.
Today, Brenda is proudly employed in the automotive industry which is exactly where she hoped to be. Her journey is a great reminder that with the right support, determination, and a community that believes in you, rebuilding your life and achieving meaningful employment is possible.
“To me, success is being able to wake up excited to go to my job and do my absolute best, problem solving at work, and coming home feeling satisfied with my work today.”
