This morning, I encountered an applicant who lacked the qualifications for a role we are hiring for. When I responded with kindness and transparency about why they weren't a fit, their response was rude and unprofessional. It was a moment that tested my patience.

However, this quote reminded me of the power of composure. Patience isn’t just about enduring—it’s about choosing how we respond. While it’s never easy to deal with negativity, staying kind and professional is a victory in itself.

This experience reinforced a key lesson: how we handle rejection or feedback says a lot about our character. A respectful dialogue can open doors down the line, even if today’s opportunity isn’t the right fit.
