Natalka Lewis (BA Dance, Associate Diploma CSC-CICB) is a freelance dance artist, choreographer and teacher based in Calgary, Alberta where she is an advocate for nurturing the dance community. In 2013, Ms. Lewis founded Trip the Light Dance Co. She recently launched a Youth Training Company through Trip the Light Dance. Much of Ms. Lewis’s work with Trip the Light Dance explores collaboration and merges movement with music, fashion, photography, multimedia, film and other art genres. She has also worked with several dance companies in Alberta including Corps Bara Dance Theatre, Soulocentric, W&M Physical Theatre (W&Mii) & La Caravan. Her choreographic work has been shown to an array of festivals and shows since 2007. Ms. Lewis’s work focuses on authentic human experiences that encourage the artist and the audience to connect emotionally and truthfully through story. She looks for concepts that explore the human experience and brain through a physical movement aesthetic. Currently she is completing her second trimester of her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Upon graduation she will specialize in high performance teens and children such as athletes and dancers.
