Staff from our ETHOS and WorkBC Cowichan Valley teams attended the Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce Leadership Breakfast this morning, featuring the Honourable Sheila Malcolmson, Minister of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, as keynote speaker.

The discussion highlighted pathways to employment through skills development, practical training opportunities, and strong community partnerships. It also explored how employers, service providers, and government can work together to support workforce participation and economic resilience.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with community partners, hear about current provincial priorities, and explore how collaboration can strengthen pathways to employment for people across British Columbia.

It is also a time to reflect on the importance of truth, respect, and reconciliation, while uplifting Indigenous voices and communities. By learning from the past and listening in the present, we can help build stronger, more inclusive communities for everyone.
