Pijunnaqunga Empowering Inuit Nunavimmiut through hands-on work experiences and office skills training since 2017.

Pijunnaqunga is an internship program that aims to empower young Inuit from Nunavik to develop their skills through hands-on work experience. The program includes in-depth interviews, an intensive training session, and paid internships in Nunavik organizations with a solid mentoring support. Pijunnaqunga intends to offer internship opportunities in significant positions within Nunavik regional organizations in order to encourage the development of the next generation of Nunavimmiut leaders.

The KRG Sustainable Employment Department, in collaboration with regional partners, is launching a new, user-friendly job & training portal in September 2026. We want a name that reflects our culture, language, and the future of employment in Nunavik.

What is this portal for?

The mission of this portal is to empower Nunavimmiut by creating a one-stop website for career growth and recruitment. It is more than just a job board; it is a tool for autonomy and regional development. Key features will include:

For Job Seekers: A user-friendly interface to discover regional opportunities, a built-in Resume Builder that generates professional PDFs, and an interactive map of our 14 villages to filter jobs by location.

For Employers: A streamlined dashboard to post listings, manage applicants, and reach local talent more effectively.

For the Community: A central space for training programs and vocational information to ensure everyone has access to the tools they need to succeed.

Following a consultation with Inuit representatives, we have narrowed down the options to these final names. Please vote for the name that resonates most with you!

The KRG Sustainable Employment Department is seeking a name for a new regional job search and training portal, a digital hub created specifically for job seekers and employment development in Nunavik.

This platform is more than just a job site; it is a tool designed to foster local and regional development, employment opportunities and training for all Nunavimmiut.

What will this portal do?

β€’ For Job Seekers: Access a user-friendly interface to discover regional opportunities, use a built-in Resume Builder to create professional PDFs, and explore an interactive map of our 14 villages to find work close to home.

β€’ For Employers: Use a streamlined dashboard to post job listings, manage potential candidates’ applications, and connect with local talent more effectively.

β€’ For the Community: Find a central space for training programs and professional orientation , ensuring everyone has the tools they need to succeed in the workplace.
