COMPANY PROFILE
Firmly established in Quebec for over 30 years, our client is is a pioneer in custom wood manufacturing. This company offers a full range of services, from brand strategy and design, to inventory management, distribution and installation. Our client is expanding and is looking to hire a Project Developer, Engineering.
PRODUCT DEVELOPER, ENGINEER
Develops and produces 3D models and engineering drawings of retail store fixtures based on preliminary concepts, specifications etc.
Performs a variety of complex tasks from design, development, modifications, troubleshooting and testing of products.
Works from general instructions and technical specifications; applies technical knowledge to engineering and the development of retail store fixtures.
DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT WILL NOT BE LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Create 3D models and drawings for manufacturing using SolidWorks; verify drawings ensuring they conform to requirements and design specifications;
Create and maintain BOM for products and standard options in the ERP system; Establish 3D documentation of products and standard options (assembly drawings, exploded view drawings, manufacturing drawings, assembly jigs and machine layouts);
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics;
Provide technical information and effective design ideas;
Research and develop specifications used in the design process; and
Complete work in an efficient and timely manner.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
DEC or B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering
2-5+ years production in steel or wood manufacturing, and engineering experience, preferably experience in the store fixtures
3 years experience with 3D CAD software, 1 year min. in SolidWorks 2014 or +
Good structural or mechanical aptitude and knowledge strength in materials
Works precisely and pays close attention to details, is meticulous.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written bilingually
Highly self-motivated, organized self-starter with ability to work in teams consisting of people with varying backgrounds
Ability to ensure the successful ex*****on of project and/or department goals
MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook); and
Past experience in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledgeable in lean manufacturing
Project planning
Knowledgeable in metal and wood manufacturing processes and industrial equipment
