(CAAM) est une agence sans but lucratif, non-sectaire, et autonome, dont la mission principale est de favoriser, développer, et augmenter la qualité de la vie des autochtones dans la communauté urbaine de Montréal. Le CAAM, étant partie d’une initiative régionale et nationale qui établit le lien entre 2 cultures, a comme mission d`aider la population autochtone comprenant les dix Premières Nations du Québec, aussi bien que les Inuits et les Métis de Montréal. Les dix Premières Nations du Québec incluent; les Cris, Mi’gmaqs, Naskapis, Algonquins, Montagnais, Abénakis, Mohawks, Atikamekws, Hurons et les Malécites. Le CAAM fournit également des services et des ressources appropriées et adaptées aux personnes immigrantes ou en transition dans la région du grand Montréal partout au Québec, au Canada, et les Amériques. Par ses programmes, activités et services, le CAAM vise à élever la qualité de vie de la population autochtone urbaine de Montréal, ainsi que ceux qui migrent ou en transition à travers la ville par la sauvegarde de leur santé, social, et les conditions juridiques et en aidant ceux-ci individus dans la réalisation de leur dignité et leur qualité de vie. Mission/Mandate
For 40 years the Native Friendship Centre of Montreal Inc. (NFCM) has provided continuous quality services to the urban Aboriginal population of Montreal and their families and is the only comprehensive service and referral point in the Greater Montreal Area (GMA) in relation to health, social services, legal, orientation/information, education, training, and employment referral for those migrating to or through the city including those from across Quebec, Canada, and the Americas. The Native Friendship Centre of Montreal is a non-profit, non-sectarian, autonomous community development agency whose principal mission is to promote, develop, and enhance the quality of life in the urban Aboriginal community of Montreal. The NFCM, being a part of a national initiative that bridges the gap between 2 cultures, serves the Aboriginal population consisting of the ten First Nations of Quebec, as well as the Inuit and Métis of Montreal. The ten First Nations of Quebec include the Cree, Mi’qmaq, Naskapi, Algonquin, Montagnais, Abenaki, Mohawk, Attikamekw, Huron and Malecite. NFCM provides the services of an urban Aboriginal Centre, where people from across Quebec, Canada, and the Americas seek support and referral services in Montreal. The Centre mandated to assist Native people who are making a transition to or through the urban community and to improve the quality of life of the urban Aboriginal population of Montreal by providing access to services and referral through central, suitable, and appropriate facilities where cultural, educational, recreational, and social activities can be held. Through its programs, activities, and services the NFCM aims to uplift the quality of life of the urban Aboriginal population of Montreal, as well as those migrating to or in transition through the city by safeguarding their health, social, and legal conditions and by assisting these individuals in the achievement of their dignity and their quality of life.
