TECHNICAL SALES ENGINEER
Job Overview
Our Client, leader in the metal manufacturing field is seeking a Technical Account Manager to join their team on a full time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of customer accounts, providing technical guidance, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
-Serve as the primary liaison and lead point of contact for assigned customer accounts, ensuring effective communication and ongoing satisfaction.
-Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with customers, striving for excellence in customer service.
-Monitor customer behavior and purchasing patterns to anticipate needs and identify opportunities for growth.
-Respond promptly to customer inquiries, coordinating with sales representatives to capitalize on new business opportunities.
-Collaborate with customer support and product development teams to enhance the overall customer experience.
-Partner with the sales team to identify and capitalize on opportunities for account growth within designated territories.
-Coordinate with production scheduling and shipping departments to ensure timely and successful delivery of customer orders.
-Process customer orders meticulously, including thorough double-checking and noting special instructions.
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer accounts, promptly reporting any changes to the sales and accounts receivable teams.
-Generate price quotations and obtain necessary approvals from management.
-Provide timely responses to phone calls and customer support emails, aiming to address inquiries within one business day.
-Conduct weekly inventory checks of finished goods, ensuring accuracy and making necessary adjustments in the system.
-Stay informed about promotions and apply them correctly, while also providing information on new product development.
-Complete necessary forms such as incident reports, return goods authorizations, and shipping/pick-up requests.
-Among other duties as assigned.
Technical Support Responsibilities:
-Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
-Handle all technical inquiries from sales and customer service teams.
-Must have Mechanical background and Manufacturing company experience
-Collaborate with customer service, programming, and shop floor personnel to ensure job requirements are understood and met.
-Create and ensure consistency in product templates to meet customer design specifications.
-Design new hardware/parts drawings using Solid Works when necessary.
-Work on projects as directed by the Technical Support Engineer.
-Participate in training sessions as required.
-Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-Proficiency in SolidWorks
-Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (including Microsoft Access) and Outlook
-Ability to create and manage spreadsheets, as well as word processing for documents such as reports, memos, and letters
-Strong attention to detail when entering and processing information for projects
-Effective time management skills for project completion
-Proficient in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English
