The McCormick Care Group is a non-denominational charitable organization based in London, Ontario, providing compassionate care to the community.

McCormick Care Group operates McCormick Home, a long-term care facility for seniors; McCormick Dementia Services, to provide care and support to people living in the community with dementia and their care partners; and McCormick Dementia Research, to push innovation in dementia care and develop new ways to manage dementia for people and their families. While each plays a unique role in caring for those with dementia, they’re all guided by the same principles for providing compassionate care.

We were pleased to participate in the 2026 Age Friendly London Conference, connecting with community members and service providers while raising awareness about the programs and supports available through McCormick Dementia Services.

This Adult Day Program Week, we're sharing a few heartfelt messages of appreciation from our clients and care partners. Each note is a beautiful reminder of the difference that compassion, connection and a sense of belonging can make in someone's life.

As part of Community Support Services Month, we recognize the important role adult day programs play in enriching the lives of individuals living with dementia while providing meaningful support to their care partners.

We’re inviting our community to come together for a special Remembrance Day project!

Inspired by the 2021 Cambridge Poppy Project, we’re creating a beautiful art installation made from handmade knitted and crocheted poppies to honour our veterans.

And we’d love your help bringing this vision to life!

How can you participate?

* Knit or crochet poppies to contribute to our community art installation.
* Need the pattern? Comment below or send us a message, and we’ll share two pattern options with you!
* Drop off your finished poppies at the front desk of McCormick Home by November 6.

Our residents will help bring all the donated poppies together to create a meaningful display of remembrance.

Together, let’s create something beautiful to honour those who have served.

This National Seniors Day is a reminder that every person carries with them a lifetime of experiences, accomplishments, relationships, passions and memories that continue to shape who they are.

Our residents shared glimpses into their stories, from the roles they’ve held and the work they’ve done to the experiences and passions that have meant something to them along the way.

Today, and every day, we celebrate our residents for all they have contributed, all they continue to bring to our community and, most importantly, for who they are. 💙

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day, we pause to honour Survivors and their families and to remember the children who never came home.

Today, our residents, clients, care partners, volunteers, students and team members gathered at the Turtle monument beside McCormick Care Group for a time of learning and reflection. Together, we learned about the significance of this special place, explored Indigenous teachings connected to the Turtle, and reflected on the meaning and history of Orange Shirt Day.

We were reminded that reconciliation is more than reflection. It is an ongoing commitment to learn, listen, build meaningful relationships, and take action.

Today and every day, we remain committed to continuing the journey of learning, understanding, and reconciliation.

Our residents enjoyed an evening of Western Fair favourites, from sweet treats and live entertainment to taking in all the sights and excitement. Nothing beats an evening at the fair with great company! 💙

Understanding starts with learning.

On World Alzheimer’s Day, we join communities around the world in raising awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, while recognizing the importance of continued learning, understanding and compassion.

At McCormick Care Group, one way we put that commitment into action is through dementia education. Our recently revamped education provides team members with an immersive, hands-on experience that encourages them to consider some of the sensory, communication and everyday challenges a person living with dementia may experience.

Inspired by previous learning with Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners (ALZSWP), we’ve built on that experience to continue strengthening dementia education across our organization.

This World Alzheimer’s Day, we’re reminded that greater understanding can help create more meaningful connections and more compassionate, relationship-centred care.

Residents asked, and we delivered!

As we celebrate Resident Council Week, our Annual Corn Roast came with a very special twist this year: a dunk tank!

At the request of the Resident Council, residents and team members stepped up to take their best shot at dunking a manager, with plenty of laughs along the way.

Safe to say, Resident Council knows how to make a Friday afternoon a little more fun!
