We are deeply saddened to hear about the layoffs at Invista and the impact this has on so many individuals, families, and our broader community. Our thoughts are with everyone affected during this difficult and uncertain time.
Job loss is never easy, and it can bring significant stress and disruption. Please know that you are not alone. When you are ready, support is available.
At ReStart we offer employment and job search services to help you navigate next steps — from job search support and skills development to one-on-one guidance.
When the time feels right, we are here to help you restart, rebuild, and move forward.
Today’s announcement that 100 Invista employees will be losing their jobs is difficult news for our community. First and foremost, my thoughts are with the workers and families affected, many of whom have dedicated years of service, and have helped build Kingston’s strong industrial and manufacturing sector.
Our focus now is supporting those affected through this transition. The City will work closely with our economic development partners, employment service providers, post-secondary institutions, and upper levels of government to help connect impacted workers with new employment opportunities, skills training, and retraining programs. Our goal is to ensure that individuals and families have the opportunities and support they need to remain in Kingston. On behalf of Myself and City Council, I want the affected workers and their families to know that they are not facing this alone.
