Dinner with the incredible 1MT Blackbelts in Kigali. An evening filled with stories from the classroom, laughter, and powerful reminders of why teachers matter so much.

Grateful to see the impact of educators who continue to lead change in their communities, and proud to connect this journey with the work we do alongside partners like the Queen’s University Faculty of Education.

When passionate educators gather around one table, the conversation always turns into inspiration. 🌍📚✨

The impact of the 1 Million Teachers program was strongly felt today at Zetech University.
Elizabeth Mokaya, a final-year student of Borabu TTC, Victor Bernard from University of Embu, Sisa Nyakundi, an English and Literature teacher at Rigoma Girls, and Harriet Sanjeroo, National Coordinator of 1 Million Teachers, engaged in a meaningful and fruitful sharing session with Zetech University students.
Zetech University continues to be a strong pillar of support for 1 Million Teachers, with many of its students proudly graduating as Black Belters in previous cohorts.
Today’s session clearly resonated with students, sparking enthusiasm and inspiring many to enroll and graduate with the 7th cohort.
Thank you, Zetech University, for your continued partnership with 1 Million Teachers. And thank you to 1 Million Teachers for driving transformative change in education by equipping teachers with the skills they need to thrive.

Gender equity in education is about more than fairness; it’s about meeting the unique needs of both girls and boys.

From overcoming barriers like limited access to schooling and cultural expectations for girls, to supporting boys facing emotional pressures and disengagement, every child deserves the chance to thrive.

This is Mastermind Insights from our own 1MT Blackbelts sharing strategies and stories from the field on how schools, families, and communities can create truly inclusive learning environments.
