People love to say “don’t look back,” and I get it—you can’t grow if you’re stuck rehashing mistakes. But there’s a difference between dwelling and analyzing.
Looking back, briefly and intentionally, helps you identify where you leaked time, money, or energy… so you can correct it and move forward faster.
For me, it’s clear:
The hours I spent on the initial hiring process.
Sifting through resumes, scheduling interviews, trying to vet candidates, time that could’ve been spent generating revenue or strengthening the business.
Meanwhile, someone else could’ve handled that process better, faster, and with more consistency, because they actually had the bandwidth to do it right.
That’s the real cost most people don’t calculate.
So here’s the question:
What’s one area of your business where you spent time that would’ve been better delegated?
That answer usually points directly to your next level.
