Pic River Employment Opportunities As an alternative to the Ontario Works Program, there are many aspects, which set the two apart.

Pic River's Employment Support and Training was developed as a result of the Innovations Pilot Project, which was one of two in Ontario selected to address welfare dependency in First Nation communities. The objective is to provide the community with the resources to formalize its approach to addressing social assistance dependency. By combining the efforts of several of the programs on a case by

case basis, Pic River First Nation Employment Support and Training will work towards increasing personal independency, address barriers faced by clients and improving employment prospects for First Nation members through direct contact with local employers. Services Available:

•Access to Job Bank and Job Board

•Resource Materials

•Computer and Internet Access for Job search

•Resume Preparations

•Fax and Photocopying

•Employment Related Telephone calls

•Employment Support Services

•On-Site Community Training Programs
