The Career Connect Construction Labourer Program starts November 2, 2026.

If you've been thinking about a hands-on career in construction, now is the time to take the next step.

Through the program, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Learn practical construction skills
• Gain hands-on training
• Gain real-world job site experience
• Work alongside experienced professionals
• Build confidence on active job sites
• Connect with employers in the Heartland

The program is designed to help you build the skills, experience and confidence to pursue a career in construction.

Start date: November 2, 2026

Our doors are open at Careers Under Construction.

We are a fully funded employment support program at Suite 101, 9821 108 Street, right here in Fort Saskatchewan. Whether you are looking for work, thinking about a career change, dealing with challenges that have made employment harder, or just not sure where to start, this is the place to come.

Walk in anytime Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 3:30pm. No appointment. No forms to fill out before you arrive. No judgment about where you are starting from. Our team is here to meet you where you are and help you figure out what your next step looks like, on your timeline, in a way that makes sense for your life.

Our Resource Centre has 12 computer workstations, job boards, printing and scanning, career advising, resume help, and daily workshops on everything from job search strategies and interview prep to financial literacy, mental health, and navigating family court. There is no cost for any of it. Every service and program at Careers Under Construction is fully funded by the Government of Alberta.

If you live in Fort Saskatchewan, Strathcona County, Sherwood Park, Bon Accord, Gibbons, Bruderheim, or anywhere in the surrounding Industrial Heartland area, this program was built for your community. Come see what we have built. We think you will be glad you did.
