๐จ๐ฆ IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: CANADA HAS INCREASED STUDY PERMIT PROOF-OF-FUNDS REQUIREMENTS
Starting September 1, 2026, applicants applying for a Canadian study permit outside Quebec will need to demonstrate higher financial resources to cover their living expenses.
๐ฐ New Cost-of-Living Requirements:
๐ Single applicant: $23,448
๐ฅ Family of 2: $29,192
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Family of 4: $43,572
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Family of 7: $62,054
โ Each additional family member: $6,318
For a single applicant, that's an increase of $553 from the previous requirement.
โ ๏ธ Remember: These amounts cover living expenses only. Applicants must also demonstrate sufficient funds for:
๐ First-year tuition
โ๏ธ Travel expenses to and from Canada
๐ต Required living expenses
Applications submitted before September 1, 2026 are assessed using the previous amounts. Quebec has its own financial requirements.
