Meet the 2026-27 Teaching & Learning Team!

As a new school year begins, we’re excited to introduce the Rupertsland Institute Teaching & Learning team and share a little about the work we’ll be doing to support Métis education in K–12 schools across Alberta this year.

Our team brings together experienced Métis educators who are contracted or seconded from school authorities across the province, alongside Métis pre-service teachers completing their Bachelor of Education degrees. Together, we bring a range of experiences and perspectives to our work in professional learning, resource development, educational research, partnerships, programming, and supports for Métis students, families, and educators.

Our 2026–27 team includes:

🌿 Megan Tipler – Associate Director, Teaching, Learning, and Research
🌿 Leanne Traverse – Lead, Métis Education Consultant
🌿 Aimee Robert – Métis Education Consultant
🌿 Nicole Polukoshko – Métis Education Consultant
🌿 Jory Proft – Métis Education Consultant
🌿 Kya Twa – Métis Education Intern
🌿 Zoe Yowney – Métis Education Intern

A big part of our work is building relationships with educators, schools, school authorities, communities, and education partners across Alberta. We know there is already incredible work happening throughout the province, and we look forward to finding opportunities to work together, share resources and learning, and strengthen Métis education across Alberta.
