Creston Valley Welcomes New Family Physician: Dr. Sandeep Kumar
August 25, 2026

The Creston Valley Health Working Group is pleased to welcome Dr. Sandeep Kumar to the Valley. Dr. Kumar joined the Family Practice Associates Clinic on August 24, where he will begin building his local medical practice.

Originally from India, Dr. Kumar brings over 37 years of experience in family practice medicine. Having lived and worked extensively in Canada and abroad, he brings a wealth of clinical knowledge across different geographical areas. His broad background equips him with a deep understanding of diverse patient needs, and he is conversant in five languages. When he is not in the clinic, Dr. Kumar enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and listening to music.

Dr. Kumar is relocating to Creston under B.C.’s Practice Ready Assessment Program, which brings internationally educated family physicians to the province. He is settling into the area with his wife and parents and looks forward to joining and serving our community.

Creston Valley doctors currently offer office practice, and the vast majority also offer additional skills covering the 24-hour emergency department, hospital inpatients, and nursing homes. Some of the team also offer services in maternity care, Yaqan Nukiy Health Services, mental health, addiction care, the high school clinic, and the sexual health clinic, in addition to serving on multiple medical boards.

Creston doctors’ offices do not have individual clinic waitlists. There is a centralized waitlist for the Creston area that is maintained online. Please do not contact the clinics directly. Once you have registered online, your place will be held on that waitlist for all future intakes utilizing this system. You will be contacted by the appropriate clinic when it is your turn.

The Creston Valley Health Working Group is funded by the Town of Creston along with RDCK Areas B and C.

The website for Creston Valley residents without a family doctor is: https://hcr.healthlinkbc.ca/s/ Those individuals without access to a computer or a smartphone can request assistance by dialing 8-1-1. Your BC Services number and dates of birth for all family members is required for registration.
