We would like to recognize two heroes in healthcare who were presented with Guardian Angel awards recently! The Guardian Angel program celebrates those who have made a significant difference in the lives of their patients, often going above and beyond the call of duty.
Dr. Nadean Caines and Dr. Nicola Penney do this every day and were recently recognized for their phenomenal work.
Dr. Caines' nominator shared their experience and gratitude with us as follows: "Dr. Caines, you are the kind of doctor every woman deserves but few are lucky enough to have. During the scariest, most uncertain times of my life, you have been a steady, compassionate presence. Your deep dedication to women’s health and patient advocacy goes far beyond your job. You make me feel seen, heard, and safe when I feel anything but. Your ability to hold space for both medical urgency and emotional vulnerability is something I will never forget. I am truly grateful to have you in my corner. Thank you for being my Guardian Angel!"
Dr. Penney's nominator shared their experience as follows: "Dr. Penney, you are one of the very best! Caring, calm, thorough, and empathetic. All the qualities you would hope for in a physician. You treat every concern with care and compassion, often going above and beyond. I feel incredibly fortunate to have you in my corner. Thank you for being my Guardian Angel!"
