Your client landed the job. Now what?

Landing a new role is worth celebrating, but career development support shouldn’t end with the job offer. Starting a new position brings new expectations, relationships and challenges. How can career development professionals help clients navigate this transition with confidence?

In this week’s CareerWise article, Michelle Schafer explores how practitioners can help clients take an active role in their onboarding, from reflecting on past experiences to setting learning goals for their first 30, 60 and 90 days.

The question isn’t just how to help clients land the job, but how to help them succeed once they’re there.💡

This Small Business Week, we’re shining the spotlight on small businesses across PEI and the hardworking entrepreneurs behind them.

Meet PIE OH MY, a family-owned food truck at Red Head Harbour in Morell, operated by Chef Scott and his wife, Connie.

Their artisan, fire-oven pizzas feature 72-hour cold-fermented dough, fresh local ingredients and seasonal inspiration.

Keeping things small-batch lets them focus on the craft behind every pizza—and when it’s gone, it’s gone!

SkillsPEI is proud to celebrate the passion and creativity Island entrepreneurs bring to our communities.

Follow PIE OH MY | Artisan Pizza to see what’s cooking!

Last year, Loane was a Project SEARCH intern learning the ropes at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Today, he’s a valued member of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) team, helping mentor Ben, who is now beginning his own internship in the same department.

It’s wonderful to see that journey come full circle — a former intern now sharing his experience, knowledge, and encouragement with someone following in his footsteps.

This is what Project SEARCH is all about: creating opportunities, building skills, and opening doors to meaningful employment. And sometimes, the best people to show you what’s possible are those who have walked the path before you.
