Matrix HR is hiring Skilled Labourers with marine experience for a long-term dredging and marine infrastructure project in Esquimalt, BC. This is an opportunity to join an experienced crew, build your marine construction skills, and work around barges, cranes, floats, and dredging equipment. Matrix HR recruits for a range of client projects, and strong performance may lead to future opportunities on marine and industrial projects.

What this opportunity offers:
✅ $33.09 per hour
✅ Three weeks on, one week off
✅ 40 hours per week, with overtime as required
✅ Multi-year project with potential for future marine work
✅ Group benefits plan available
✅ RRSP matching after six months
✅ Safety-focused team and experienced leadership

*The role is open to local candidates and candidates who are planning to relocate to the Esquimalt area.

Marine, civil, industrial, barge, float, or crane experience is an asset. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors and physically capable of lifting, climbing, and working on uneven surfaces.

Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS 2015, Marine Emergency Duties, or First Aid certification may be required. Candidates must also be able to obtain site-specific security clearance, if required.

Matrix HR is hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for a marine dredging and infrastructure project in Esquimalt, BC. This opportunity is open to local candidates only. Reliable transportation to and from the worksite is required.

The role offers:
✅ $38.21 per hour
✅ Overtime opportunities may be available

✅ Local project work in Esquimalt
✅ Experience operating equipment on marine platforms and barges

Ever turn on a tap, flush a toilet, or walk through a heated building and wonder who keeps those systems working? That is the work of a plumber.

Plumbers install, test, repair, and maintain the systems that move water, gas, steam, air, and waste through homes, businesses, industrial facilities, and construction projects.

🔧 What plumbers do:
• Install and repair water, drainage, waste, and vent systems
• Work with hydronic heating, steam, and process piping
• Read blueprints and project specifications
• Test systems for leaks, pressure, and proper operation
• Install fixtures, pumps, valves, and specialized equipment
• Work with compressed air, irrigation, fire protection, and medical gas systems

Matrix HR is hiring Apprentice and Journeyperson Ironworkers for a major industrial project.

Pay Rates
✅ Journeyperson: $52/hour
✅ First-year Apprentice: $36.40/hour
✅ Second-year Apprentice: $41.60/hour
✅ Third-year Apprentice: $46.80/hour

What’s Offered
✅ Full-time project work
✅ 10 days on / 4 days off or 5 days on / 2 days off
✅ Travel and living-out allowance for eligible workers
✅ Weekly pay
✅ Extended health benefits through the applicable union agreement

Applicants must have industrial construction experience, be comfortable working at heights, and hold valid Fall Protection certification.

Apprentices must be registered with a recognised provincial training authority. Journeypersons must hold a valid provincial Ironworker ticket.

It was great for our Matrix HR team to back in Edmonton for the ICBA Meet the Generals & Owners.

We were proud to exhibit alongside so many general contractors, developers, public owners, procurement teams, and construction professionals from across Northern Alberta. Events like this create an opportunity to connect early, listen to what project teams are planning, and talk through workforce needs before schedules become tight.

Matrix HR supports construction and industrial teams with skilled trades, technical professionals, onboarding, payroll, compliance, workforce administration, and workforce planning.
