Drumsticks are made from trees. There are many drumsticks, diameters and wood types. We have a ridiculous number of models from which to choose. We use North Amercian maple or hickory, often purchased from the same suppliers that sell to the entire drumstick industry.
It is not our responsibility to teach the drumming community how to pick the most appropriate stick for their playing style. If you are a drummer, it is part of your craft to learn what is the best type of stick for you to use. If you are playing beyond the range of a certain model, you don't just keep playing them until they are all cracked and broken, you investigate other models, wood types etc. You call the store you have purchased the product from and take the unused ones back to the store and ask if you can exchange them for another heavier model that suits your drumming style and technique, that is part of the learning curve. We have no idea how you play, how long you have been playing, we do not have a history with you. We are a shop/factory. This is part of your craft to figure out your needs, this is what real Music Stores are for, to help you!

We don't replace your broken sticks.

Have a great day.

Crossovers and Crossovers ll: A drummer from New Zealand inquired about which our many 'bundled' rods will creat a decent 'cross-sticking' sound.
Answer:

Hi Michael,

A sound thing on our page is a great idea. We make a lot of 'striking implements' that are sound driven specifically for the acoustic kit.
If you want to use a bundled rod and also get a cross-stick sound off the rim, then I recommend one of the patented Crossovers or Crossovers ll's. They are 16" long, the stick portion is turned on a lathe and is 13", it has a bulb area that is solid, like a bead. This is the target zone area to allow for a more 'rimshot' friendly vibe over other bundled rods. The stick section has a 'X' style comfort grip but above the grip area, you can create a fairly decent cross-stick sound, it won't have the same cut as the butt of a drumstick however it is very convenient and makes an acceptable sound substitution. At the playing end, we drill a hole and insert a bundle; the bundle can be of poly, poly with a nylon sleeve for some cymbal definitions or different types of bamboo profiles, thick or very thin. We leave the outer skin on the bamboo so it is very durable. The different profiles change the bounce and the dynamic level. Soft or hard.

If you are trying to narrow down which of the 7 different Crossovers models might best suit your playing needs, PM us or email us at [email protected].

Thanks

Dave
