How many interviews are too many?

In this week's episode of WTF Talks, Dave and Hannah shared the story of a candidate who completed six interviews only to learn the company had frozen hiring.

It's a reminder that every extra interview asks candidates to invest more time, more preparation, and more uncertainty.
A thoughtful hiring process matters. But so does making timely decisions. The best candidates aren't always lost to competitors. Sometimes, they're lost to a process that takes too long.

How many interviews do you think is the right number before making a hiring decision?

Artificial intelligence is already part of today's workplace.

The bigger question isn't "Should we use AI?"
It's "How should we use it?"

One idea from this week's episode really stood out:
The best AI doesn't replace people. It removes repetitive work so people can focus on the work only humans can do.

That means:
• Building stronger relationships with clients.
• Solving complex problems.
• Making better decisions.
• Creating more meaningful conversations.

The organizations that will thrive aren't necessarily the ones using the most AI. They're the ones using it intentionally to empower their teams, reduce burnout, and help employees spend more time where they create the most value.

How is your organization using AI to support people instead of replacing them?

We promise there's context...

This week's award for "leadership advice that sounds harsh but is actually brilliant" goes to Dave:
"Shut your mouth, managers. Listen."

🎙️ Hear the story (and the laughs) in the latest episode of WTF Talks with Dave & Hannah.

This one's for anyone who's ever rehearsed a hard conversation in their head five times and still chickened out.

The new episode of WTF Talks is all about that. Dave tells the story of losing it on his boss in the basement of a trade show (he got fired that Monday). Hannah talks about how easy it is to let stuff build up until you're finally forced to deal with it.

The line that stuck with me: "we listen, and we reserve judgment." Not because you don't judge, you're human, you can't help it. But you can hold it back until you actually understand what's going on.

A few other things worth stealing:
- Just name it. "Hey, this might be a hard conversation" does more than you'd think.
- If you're mad, wait. The heat doesn't go away, but you show up steadier.
- Go in curious, not with a script. The best conversations rarely go how you planned.

How you handle hard conversations defines your culture.

In this week's episode of WTF Talks, Dave and Hannah shared practical advice for approaching these conversations with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.

Here are a few key takeaways:
- Address issues early.
Small conversations today can prevent much bigger problems tomorrow. Waiting rarely makes difficult conversations easier.
- Listen before you judge.
One of the biggest reminders from the episode: great managers actively listen. Creating an environment where employees feel safe to communicate builds stronger teams and better solutions.

As Hannah put it:
"Go into the conversation with an open mind about how the communication happens and what the outcomes are."

🎙️ This week's WTF Talks delivered plenty of laughs and even more relatable moments.

Some of our favorite quotes:
💬 "I need a human resources person in my life." – Dave
💬 "I am your impulse control." – Hannah
💬 "My life should be like bowling... and you're one of the bumpers." – Dave

Sometimes the best leadership lessons come wrapped in humor. Whether it's having someone who keeps you grounded, calls you out when you need it, or simply reminds you not to take life too seriously, this episode has something for everyone.

Can you be an authentic leader while still respecting professional boundaries?
Absolutely.

Authenticity builds trust. It creates stronger teams, encourages honest conversations, and helps leaders connect with the people they serve. But great leadership also means understanding that not every question belongs in the workplace. Creating a culture is about creating an environment where employees feel comfortable sharing if they choose to.

The strongest leaders know when to speak, when to listen, and when to respect the line between curiosity and privacy.

How do you create an environment where employees feel safe without feeling pressured to share?
