Eid ul-Adha; "The Festival of Sacrifice" is celebrated to honor complete devotion to Almighty Allah and to mark the conclusion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Among the two Eids of muslims, this one reflects upon selflessness, charity and communal harmony. At the heart of this celebration is the act of Qurbani which teaches us the lesson of sacrifice, faith and unconditional obedience to the Lord. Aside from that, it carries immense social value due to the strict division of sacrificial meat which ensures that the most vulnerable members of the society are served and can feast with dignity and honour, as the division of meat is not charity but a divine right. The practice also strengthens kinship and familial bonds as the remaining portion is shared with relatives and neighbours turning holiday into catalyst for nurturing friendship, strengthening family ties, fostering deep bonds through shared togetherness.

On this joyful day, BAF Shaheen College Dhaka Writers' Club wishes you and your loved ones a beautiful and prosperous Eid ul-Adha. May Allah accept our sacrifices, forgive our shortcomings and grant us endless mercy and baraka in life. We hope this special occasion fills your home with laughter and countless blessing. সাল ১৮৯৯; দিনপঞ্জিকার পাতায় তারিখ ২৪শে মে (বাংলা ১৩০৬ বঙ্গাব্দের ১১ই জ্যৈষ্ঠ)। পরাধীনতার তপ্ত আবহাওয়া আর ইংরেজদের নিপীড়নের মাঝে এই উপমহাদেশের নিপীড়িত-শোষিত সর্বহারা জনসাধারণ যখন দিশেহারা, তখন ধুমকেতুর মতো আগমন ঘটেছিলো চির-বিদ্রোহী নক্ষত্র "কাজী নজরুল ইসলামের"। পশ্চিমবঙ্গের বর্ধমান জেলার ছোট্ট গ্রাম চুরুলিয়ায় তাঁর জন্ম। সোনার চামচ মুখে নিয়ে নয়; বরং দারিদ্র্যের লেলিহান শিখার সঙ্গে লড়াই করেই তিনি বেড়ে উঠেছেন। রুটির দোকান থেকে রণক্ষেত্র - সর্বত্রই ছিল তাঁর অবাধ্য পদচারণা। প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধের দামামা শেষে পল্টন থেকে ফিরে এসে নজরুল শুরু করেন এক নতুন ধরনের যুদ্ধ - কলমকে তরবারি করে শব্দের মারণাস্ত্র নিয়ে রুখে দাঁড়ালেন শোষণের বিরুদ্ধে। রচনা করেন তাঁর অমর কাব্য "বিদ্রোহী"। ১৯২২ সালে আপোষহীন এই লেখক শুরু করেন "ধূমকেতু" পত্রিকায় লেখালেখি, যা পরাধীন ভারতবর্ষের জনসাধারণের মনে সুপ্ত আগ্নেয়গিরির অকস্মাৎ অগ্নিস্ফুলিঙ্গের ন্যায় সৃষ্টি করে প্রবল আলোড়ন। তাঁর লেখা প্রতিটি হরফ ছিল যেন বারুদের ন্যায় তেজস্বী। "আনন্দময়ীর আগমনী" কবিতার রাজদ্রোহী পঙ্কক্তির অপরাধে কারাবরণও করতে হয় এই অদম্য সাহসী কলম-যোদ্ধকে; বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয় ধূমকেতু পত্রিকা। কিন্তু যে বনের পাখি, যার স্বভাব এক ডাল থেকে আরেক ডালে বিচরণ করে সুরের ফোয়ারা ছড়ানো; লোহার শিকল কি পারে তাঁর কণ্ঠরোধ করতে? অন্ধকার প্রকোষ্ঠে বসেও তিনি গেয়েছেন শিকল-ভাঙার গান; কারণ - তিনি চির বিদ্রোহী। বিদ্রোহী এই কবির লেখা যেন নিপীড়িত-উৎপীড়িত জনমানবের কণ্ঠেরই প্রতিধ্বনি। তাঁর রচনায় যেমন বজ্রকণ্ঠে উচ্চারিত হয়েছে বিদ্রোহ, তেমনি বিদ্রোহের অন্তরালে মিশে একাকার হয়েছে অমলিন প্রেম ও সুর। কেবল শোষকের বিরুদ্ধে হুঙ্কারই নয়; তাঁর লেখনীতে সমভাবে মূর্ত হয়েছে ধর্ম, সমাজ, রাজনীতি আর উপমহাদেশের মুক্তির চালচিত্র। একদিকে যেমন কবি গেয়েছেন সাম্য ও শৃঙ্খলমুক্তির জয়গান, তেমনি অন্যদিকে নারী, প্রেম আর শাশ্বত ভালোবাসার ব্যাকুলতায় সিক্ত করেছেন তৃষ্ণার্ত পাঠক হৃদয়কে। "অগ্নিবীণা", "বিষের-বাঁশি", "সিন্ধু-হিন্দোল", "প্রলয়শিখা", " চক্রবাক", "সর্বহারা", "সাম্যবাদী" প্রভৃতি সাহিত্যকর্ম যেন সেই প্রেম আর দ্রোহের যুগলবন্দী বিস্ফোরক।

আজ সেই রুদ্র পুরুষের ১২৭তম জন্মবার্ষিকী। যিনি আমাদের শিখিয়েছেন— অন্যায়ের সাথে আপোষ করা মানুষের ধর্ম নয়, ধুঁকে ধুঁকে বেঁচে থাকাই জীবনের একমাত্র উদ্দেশ্য নয়; বরং শিরদাঁড়া সোজা করে দৃঢ় কণ্ঠে সত্যের স্বীকারোক্তিই সৃষ্টির পরম ধর্ম। আজ জ্যৈষ্ঠের এই মহিমান্বিত লগ্নে "বিএএফ শাহীন কলেজ ঢাকা রাইটার্স ক্লাব" পরম শ্রদ্ধাভরে স্মরণ করছে অমর বিদ্রোহী সত্তা জাতীয় কবি কাজী নজরুল ইসলাম-কে। হে ধ্রুব পুরুষ, হে কবি, শুভ জন্মদিন!

Literature has been carrying the soul of human civilization since the early era. With the same essence Writer’s Club opens the recruitment for Club Representatives (CR). A CR is more than a title. We look for those who carry love within themselves for literature, who find the beauty in poetry. Being a CR is more than responsibility - it's more about nurturing ideas, encouraging a community of writers to grow together.

Today, with profound sorrow, we BAF Shaheen College Dhaka Writers' Club mourn the untimely passing of our fellow brother, MD Mahir Shahriar, a student of BAF Shaheen College Dhaka and a cherished member of HSC batch 27. It is difficult to believe that someone we studied with, saw in college just a few days ago, is no longer with us. His sudden departure has left us shocked and filled with an emptiness that words can hardly express.

In this painful time, we stand in solidarity with his family, friends, classmates and all who loved and cared about him. May they get enough strength to cope up with this heart breaking loss. Even though Mahir is no longer among us his memories will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone of us.

Dear brother and our dearest friend may your soul rest in eternal peace.

বাংলা সাহিত্যের দুঃখ-মৃত্যু বিরহ আর অনুভূতি গভীরতাকে নতুন উচ্চতায় পৌঁছে দেওয়া প্রীতি ও মানবতার অনন্য রূপকার কবিগুরু রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর সাহিত্যের এক অমর অধ্যায়। ১৮৬১ সালের ৭ ই মে কলকাতার ঠাকুর পরিবারে তার জন্ম। পরিবারের বহমান সাহিত্যিক ধারার দরুন খুব ছোটবেলা থেকেই তাঁর সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির উপর ছিল প্রবল আগ্রহ। তিনি একাধারে কবিতা, গান, গল্প, উপন্যাস, নাটক, প্রবন্ধসহ; সংগীতশিল্পী, সাহিত্যিক ও দার্শনিক। তার অমর-সৃষ্টি "গীতাঞ্জলি" , "শেষের কবিতা", " ঘরে বাইরে", "গোরা" সহ অসংখ্য কালোজয়ী রচনা ও নাটক "ডাকঘর", "রক্তকরবী ", "মুক্তধারা", "তাসের ঘর" ইত্যাদি অন্যান্য সংযোজন আজও মানুষের চিন্তা, অনুভূতি ও আত্মজগতে আলো ছড়িয়ে দেয়। ১৯১৩ সালে "Gitanjali Song Offerings" কাব্যগ্রন্থের জন্য এশিরীয়ো মহাদেশের মধ্যে তিনি প্রথম সাহিত্যে নোবেল পুরস্কারে ভূষিত হন। বাঙালি মনীষার এক আশ্চর্য প্রকাশ কবি রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর। বিচিত্র ও বহুমুখী সাহিত্য প্রতিভার জন্য শুধু নয়, তাঁর ভাব, ভাষা, বিষয়বস্তুর গভীরতার জন্যও তিনি অনন্য।

আজ ১৬৫ তম জন্মবার্ষিকীতে বিএএফ শাহীন কলেজ ঢাকা রাইটার্স ক্লাবের পক্ষ থেকে কবিগুরু রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরকে গভীরভাবে শ্রদ্ধা ও ভালোবাসায় স্মরণ করছি। তিনি কবিগুরু হয়ে আজীবন বাঙালির হৃদয়ে চিরজাগরূক ও চিরঅস্লান হয়ে থাকবেন।

But in any organisation true leaders are those who work from behind of the curtain; the responsible members who move the platform to go forward. The active members collaborate the sections of a platform among each other and take the necessary steps to take it higher. They work for the betterment, make progressive plans and turn them real.
Thus, they maintain the chain of progress and become a leader on their own right.
