terAid Bangladesh (WAB), an international
NGO, is looking for a deserving individual to fill in
the following position for one of its upcoming
project titled “Stimulating Urban Norms for
Rigorous Improvement in Sanitation Environment
(SUNRISE)”. The objective of the project is to
support the large urban population (particularly
commuters, pedestrians and floating population)
who are deprived of good public sanitation
services in Dhaka city.
Project Manager
Major Roles:
Plan, budget, implement and monitor the project
in line with expected outcomes and outputs
ensuring participation of relevant stakeholders in
the process.
Guide and support construction companies and
consulting firms for implementing the project
ensuring quality.
Facilitate construction/renovation of public toilets
in Dhaka City and establishing management
models for operation ensuring pro-poor,
sustainable and accountable services to target
population;
Ensure progress, process and output monitoring
Identify and move forward with advocacy agenda
for a pro-poor, sustainable and accountable
public toilet services in Dhaka City
Build and maintain strong networking and
partnership with utilities agencies, City
Corporations and other relevant stakeholders in
relation to achieving project objectives.
Take initiatives in publication of relevant
documents and dissemination of the same to the
target audiences.
Ensure submission of all project reports to the
respective stakeholders in time.
Represent WaterAid Bangladesh to different
national/international audiences.
Person Specifications:
Master’s preferably in Management, Marketing,
Social Science or development studies.
At least 8 years working experience in any
national/international organization of which 5
years experience in managerial position.
Experience in project management ie planning,
budgeting, implementation and monitoring.
Demonstrated skill in advocacy and influencing.
Strong leadership quality, ability to maintain
professional relationships with diversified groups
of professionals and counterparts, and strong
interpersonal skills to tackle difficult situations.
Experience in public-private partnership and
entrepreneur development are highly desired
Ability to work independently with minimal
supervision.
Excellent presentation, facilitation and writing skill
both in Bangla & English.
Adequate computer skills on MS word, Excel,
Powerpoint.
Salary & Benefits:
Monthly salary is BDT 108,000 which may be
negotiable for highly qualified and deserving
candidate. Benefits include provident fund, project
completion benefits, festival bonus, life insurance,
hospitalization insurance for spouse and children,
cell phone bill.
Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh
Working Hours: Full time (minimum 37.5 hours
per week)
Reportable to: Director Programmes
Duration of the contract: The project will run upto
September 2016 with a possibility of further
extension; in that case the position may continue
depending on her/his value addition in the project.
