"অমুক মাছ কেটে দিনে দশ হাজার কামাচ্ছে"
"লাউয়ের বাগান করে কোটিপতি"
"চাকরি ছেড়ে গোবর আর কেঁচো নাড়াচাড়া"
এসব গল্প এখন অনেকেই শোনায়।

তরুণদের জন্য, এই ফাঁদে পড়বেন না। একদম নিজের চোখে দেখা অভিজ্ঞতা। আমাদের বয়সী একজন, ওয়েল পেইড জব ছেড়ে এইসব কুইক ক্যাশের নেশায় পড়ে গেলো। এখন হাউমাউ করে মরছে।

১। আপনি যা-ই করেন, সেটার এক্সপান্ডিবিলিটি থাকতে হবে। ধরুন, একজন রিকশাওয়ালা, সে ডিসেন্ট আয় করে, এন্ট্রি লেভেল চাকরিজীবীর চেয়ে বেশী। রিকশাওয়ালা ৩০ হাজার কামায় আর জবে নতুন হলে ১৫ হাজার বেতন - সবাই আপনাকে এটুকুই বলবে।

এবার পরের হিসাবটা, ধরুন ওই রিকশাওয়ালা তার ইনকাম ডাবল করতে চায়, বা ইভেন বাড়াতে চায়। তার জন্য একমাত্র অপশন রিকশা চালানোর সময় বাড়িয়ে দেওয়া। ডাবল করতে চাইলে তাকে ১০ ঘন্টার জায়গায় ২০ ঘণ্টা রিকশা চালাতে হবে। এটা কী ফিজিকালি পসিবল? সাথে বৃষ্টি, রোদ, ছুটির দিনে কাজে না গেলে আয় নেই।
বা যে মাছ কাটছে তাকে ডাবল মাছ কাটতে হবে।

কিন্তু এন্ট্রি লেভেলের জবে ৪/৫ বছরে বেতন ডাবল হয়ে যাওয়া খুবই স্বাভাবিক, কোনো অতিরিক্ত ঘন্টা না বাড়িয়েই।

২। আপনি যে কাজটা করতে চান সেটা তো ভালো লাগতে হবে। ফেসবুকের এক লাইকখোরের লেখা পড়ে আপনি সিদ্ধান্ত নিলেন বাজারে বসে মাছ কাটবেন, চাকরীর ডাবল ইনকাম। ভেবে দেখুন, আগামী ত্রিশ বছর আপনি বটি ঘাড়ে করে মাছবাজারে গিয়ে নোংরা জলের মধ্যে বসে মাছ নাড়াচাড়া করতে রাজি আছেন কিনা।

৩। লাইফস্টাইলের ব্যপার রয়েছে। আপনার যখন তেমন ইনকাম ছিলো না আপনি বাইক চালাতেন। সামনে টাকা হবে, গাড়ী কিনবেন। কিন্তু এসব কাজে তার কাজ কী? গাড়ী চালিয়ে কি আপনি ঝালমুড়ি বেচতে যাবেন?

৪। চাকরিজীবি বা ডিসেন্ট লেভেলের উদ্যোক্তা হলে আপনি তার সাথে একটা লাইফস্টাইল আর নেটওয়ার্ক বাই ডিফল্ট পাবেন। এটা খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। ধরুণ, আপনি একটা স্টেশনারি কোম্পানির মার্কেটিংয়ে জব করেন। আপনি আজ এই ভার্সিটিতে, কাল ওই ঝকঝকে অফিসে বিটুবি ডিল করতে যাবেন। কত হাই স্কিল লোকের সাথে পরিচিতি হবে, কন্টাক্ট বিনিময় হবে।

কিন্তু আপনি টাকা দেখে রাস্তায় ঝুড়ি নিয়ে দাড়ালেন। আপনার নেটওয়ার্ক হবে পাশের বাদামওয়ালা, গান গাওয়া ভিক্ষুক। ওই বাদামওয়ালার এই মুহুর্তের সবচেয়ে বড় চিন্তা সে কতক্ষণে সব বিক্রি করে ঘরে যাবে। আগামীকালও সে একই কাজ করবে। আপনার মত তার অ্যাম্বিশন নেই, বড় কিছু করার ইচ্ছে নেই, দেশ-মানুষের উপকারে আসার খায়েশ নেই।

৫। আর এইসব পেশায় যে খুব বেশী ইনকাম হয় তাও কিন্তু না। শিরোনামে লেখা 'চাকরি ছেড়ে লাউ চাষে লাখপতি'। ভিতরে লিখেছে এক বছরে তার আয় তিন লাখ টাকা। মানে ওই লোক মাসে ২৫,০০০ টাকা কামায়, সেটা আবার নিউজ!

তাই এইসব ভুয়া মোটিভেশনের ফাঁদে পড়বেন না। প্রতিবছর নিউজ মিডিয়াগুলো নিজেদের স্বার্থেই এরকম নিউজ করে। গত পাঁচ বছরে তো নিউজ কম দেখেন নি, আইফোন হাতে বাদামওয়ালা, ডিএসএলআর হাতে খিচুড়ি বিক্রেতা। প্রশ্ন হলো তারা এখন কোথায়? তারা এখনো কেন সেই রাস্তায় বসছে না আর ওরকম আয় করছে না? তাহলে এগুলো রিলায়েবল পেশা হয় কিভাবে?

কোন কাজই ছোট নয়। কিন্তু সব কাজই যে আপনার ফিল্ড, তা-ও নয়।
আপনার কাছে খুব ভালো একটা প্লান আছে, কিন্তু পঞ্চাশ হাজার টাকার জন্য আপনি এগোতে পারছেন না। এখন আপনি যদি মাছ কুটে, বাদাম বেঁচে ওই পঞ্চাশ হাজার টাকা জোগাড় করে ফেলতে পারেন, তাহলে সেটা ঠিক আছে। কিন্তু যেভাবে এসব পেশাকে সরাসরি একটা ওয়েল পেইড জবের বিকল্প হিসেবে দেখানো হচ্ছে, তা মোটেও রিয়েলিস্টিক নয়।
