🥬✨ More than just a pop-up restaurant — this special event was proudly planned, prepared and delivered by our NDIS participants in Young, NSW as part of our Lettuce Eat hospitality program!

The event marked the culmination of a hospitality program designed to support participants in building independence and transferrable skills for employment.

From menu planning and budgeting, shopping for ingredients, meal preparation, customer service and event management. 💚 It’s been fantastic to see their skills, confidence and independence grow throughout the program!

A huge thank you to Hilltops Council and the Young Town Hall for helping make this initiative possible and for their ongoing support. 💚

And to all the family, friends and members of the community who supported our participants and enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal at the Young Town Hall! 🍴👏

We loved visiting James Fallon High School in Albury, meeting all the students, running employment workshops, and supporting the students as they explore their future options. Thank you for having us and we look forward to seeing you all later in the term at our offices! 😊

Students in Year 10 Diverse Learning (DL6 & DL7) have been participating in a series of employment workshops in partnership with Omnia, an inclusive employment provider.

Throughout these sessions, students have been exploring career pathways, developing interview skills, and will soon be working towards creating their own resumés.

Later in the term, students will attend an excursion to Omnia's site, where they will get a taste of Omnia's post-school programs, including a hands-on learning experience in Omnia's mini Woolworths store.

Under the Lights: High-Energy Action & Big Smiles 🌙🔥

Albury NDIS participants enjoyed the high-energy atmosphere of Freestyle Kings at Lavington Sports Ground as part of our OmniaSocial Weekend & After Dark events. They took in the adrenaline-filled show that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. With food in hand between the action, there were plenty of laughs and excitement. It was a great way to enjoy time with friends while building confidence and social skills.

Our in-house Mini Woolies Omnia training is opening doors to real employment opportunities - and our NDIS Albury participant, Lisa, is a great example 👏👏👏

Through this part of our employment program, Lisa built skills in customer service, money handling, and point of sale - gaining the confidence to step into a real workplace.

Now completing work experience at her local Woolworths, Lisa is enjoying working across departments, connecting with staff, and chatting with customers. With support from Omnia Inclusive, she continues to grow in confidence and independence — supported by our broader range of employment, social, and independence programs.

A one-week work experience placement - that’s all it took to open the door for our NDIS Wyong participant Noah 👏👏👏

That one week turned into a three-month paid trial and now a secured apprenticeship! Noah is now enrolled in his Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining - he's well on his way to building a successful career in the building industry!!

Through our NDIS Employment Supports, Noah didn’t just get the opportunity - he had the right support to turn it into a real outcome. With his Youth Consultant guiding him every step of the way - from application, to trial, and onto his apprenticeship - Noah built the confidence, skills, and experience needed to succeed.

This is what meaningful employment support looks like: opening doors, backing potential, and creating pathways into long-term careers.

Well done, Noah 👏

Volunteering in the Community 💚

Our Albury participants are gaining skills, confidence, and connection through volunteering as part of our Youth NDIS supports.

At Chatty Café in the Glenecho Community Centre, they help prepare coffees and support activities like plant potting, contributing to a welcoming space for community connection. They also volunteer with Food Without Barriers in Wodonga, assisting with lunch service for community members.

These experiences provide meaningful opportunities to build capability, contribute locally, and grow through giving back.
