Our QLD team recently visited the TAFE Queensland Acacia Ridge campus in Brisbane to see training in action, and explore the facilities available to apprentices and employers.

The team also had the opportunity to get up close to the sports car used for automotive training, experiencing firsthand some of the practical learning environments available to apprentices!

Warrnambool apprentice Lachlan King (left) will represent Australia at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, showcasing the strength of the apprenticeship pathway on the global stage. Lachlan is the only carpentry apprentice chosen to represent Australia! Lachlan is employed by Westvic Staffing Solutions.

Marshall started off as a school-based apprentice with Irrigation and Dairy Solutions when he was offered an opportunity to take on a dual trade in fabrication. ASA assisted him with out of hours support when he needed it most, that extra support has helped him keep building his skills and continue growing within the company.

Congratulations to Aaliyah Kearney who was awarded the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year award at the Western Sydney and Blue Mountains Training Awards!

She completed a Certificate III in Business through the Ignite Indigenous Traineeship Program at Western Sydney University.
