A Personal Synopsis
Going back into my childhood I recall that I loved reading fairy tales, drawing especially with brightly colored pencils and making crafty things all from my own very vivid visual imagination. Adding to the fact of being handicapped with hearing loss I further found support in my drawing for expressing and communicating myself. always were my better subjects especially when doing school projects. In my early teens art and sewing was becoming a forerunner to creating a direction in my life, though not aware of this at the time but my lovely mother did, particularly after suggesting to entering an Australian wide art competition and achieved being the first prize winner! Her wisdom put me in a good stead for an obvious choice of a career. At sixteen left school on my mother’s advice again to study as an apprentice with a then current fashion designer only to find further down the short track to change and enter art college and completing a graphic art diploma but continued sewing mostly self-taught by making dresses for both my sister & me. All this accomplished by the age of 20. Progress my artistic abilities through a commercial art studio, a newspaper department, TV station and ending up doing visual arts (animation). It’s here left for an overseas adventure for next 3 & a half years and still worked with my art in 2 different positions both in London. On return to Australia at age 29 and back to my old work place but with a move upwards working as a display/exhibition designer for next 16 years. Meanwhile in my leisure/hobby periods learnt about the fine art through painting and further skills in drawing. It was shortly after from my return from travelling that I developed breast cancer in the right breast of which resulted in having a mastectomy before I attained 30 years of age. This episode changed my life quite dramatically of course but proceeded to get on with my life accordingly. Sadly before attaining 40 years my mother, my friend passes away with same disease but in the liver. 4 months later my spiritual journey began fascinatingly never leaving my side learning about astrology and other spiritual subjects but still kept on with my art ventures. Retrenchment came in the early 1990’s which made me restock my life’s direction after trying self-employment only for around 6 months and then I ended up in a respite care center working as a glorified diversional therapist for the next couple of years with teachings of my art experiences to others encouraging them to find their own creative talents. A big move to another state changed me over many years to the present. Changing with maturity and gradual stability in growing into an enlightened being and knowing now where to guide my talent/gifts. Nowadays in age of technology and trying to catch up in the understanding and utilizing computers I am still in the midst of my artistic bent nature as always appreciating art in many forms to bring forth my unique design art form and spiritual teachings to reach many people on a larger scale via the internet.
