What’s Making Waves in Hiring for 2026 🌊
The hiring landscape in Australia is shifting — and top talent is becoming more selective than ever.
Recent industry research reveals some striking trends:
• 58% of businesses expect meeting candidate salary expectations to be a major challenge in 2026.
• 88% of employers have lost candidates due to unmet expectations around pay, flexibility, culture, or role alignment.
• Candidates are increasingly valuing flexibility, work-life balance, and meaningful career alignment over traditional perks.
The takeaway? Candidate expectations are shaping hiring outcomes more than ever. Companies that move quickly, communicate clearly, and offer transparency in pay and flexibility are the ones securing top talent.
At TSHR, we’ve been seeing these trends play out across industries — making candidate experience, clear communication, and market awareness critical to winning in 2026’s competitive talent market.
