You need to adapt to the changing recruitment landscape to attract and retain the best talent – review your salary benchmarks, provide mutually agreeable flexibility to your team and consider offering working from home options.

What's your favourite part of the job?
Meeting candidates, hearing about their different stories and experiences and using this information to advise them on their career pathways.

If you could only share one piece of recruitment advice with a client what would it be?
Be efficient with your recruitment process. By keeping the process moving (even if there are multiple steps), you will keep candidates excited to join your team and provide yourself with a great reputation in the market.

What's your favourite part of the job?
Developing long-term relationships with candidates and clients. It’s so rewarding to see someone develop and be promoted into a position where we can help them recruit for their own team. Feeling that you have helped someone take the next step in their career is really fulfilling.

If you could only share one piece of recruitment advice with a client what would it be?
In this highly “candidate short” market, consider looking outside of the job brief. Searching from a bigger pool will identify possible candidates that may not fit your brief totally, but their great attitude and ability to learn can potentially add more value to your business in the longer term. These candidates will grow into the role versus an employee that is exactly right growing out of it quicker.

What's your favourite part of the job?
Every day I feel like stopping the clock as they fly by! I enjoy the interesting and challenging conversations and find it very rewarding that my candidates and clients come back to me knowing that I will always go above and beyond for them. My candidates trust me with their career, and my clients trust that I will find the best candidates most suited to their vacancy.

If you could only share one piece of recruitment advice with a client what would it be?
Try not to focus on just technical skills or years of experience when hiring. It’s definitely worth your time to meet that extra candidate that doesn’t tick every single box; their behavioural competencies, passion and attitude toward their work may make them your next rockstar employee.

What's your favourite part of the job?
I enjoy understanding my clients' pain points and getting to know what my candidates want out of their next role. It is a great feeling when those pieces fit together.
